I am a little late on posting this, but I did want to share First Grade Friend pictures from Woodland. Woodland does a cool thing each year and pairs a first grader together with an eighth grader to become "First and Eighth Grade Friends." They do a lot of neat things together throughout the school year such as read together, have snack together once a week, and have a Christmas luncheon where they swap presents. During homecoming week, the 8th graders get all fancied up and are presented to the school by their first grade friends. Pretty cool!! I remember when Makenzie was in 1st grade and walked her 8th grade friend while she was being presented. Pretty soon Makenzie will be walking her first grade friend down while she is being presented! Sad! Jack's 8th grade friend is Minor Hamm and Sadie's is Lily Uebelacker. Two sweet 8th graders I taught in 6th grade.
